Owing to the recent educational summit at Ayedun, the zeal to help others in need is gradually becoming a habit among Champions students. It’s really an exciting thing to behold.
From the great experience witnessed at Ayedun, Mr Fola Adekeye, the Director of Studies and his wife, Mrs Adekeye Abosede, the CEO of Champions International Schools, have successfully instilled the act of giving into the minds of the students.
Mr. Fola, who was the convener of the summit, mobilized thirty of his friends to provide socks, school bags, exercise books and pens for school children who lack quality educational tools in his hometown. Aside from this, they had also promised better infrastructures and equipment to enhance better education experience throughout the four schools in the town.
On hearing the story, most of the students in CIS have been motivated and have shown readiness to send their good gesture of kindness to the helpless children. “Fola Oyinbo”, as popularly called in his town, has with the right intention been able to reinforce the children’s love for their parents. He has also inspired the children to pray more fervently for their parents after letting them know the value of responsible parents who always provide for their needs.
However, he had addressed the parents in his post expressing his satisfaction about how the story has further changed the children’s perspectives about life for the better. According to him, this may not be possible without the right training from their parents. He then thanked them for training their children to have empathy for the needy in the society. “Your children well understood and shared the feelings of their counterparts in my village. Your children are wonderful!” He said.
He further showed his appreciation by gifting every champion’s family his newly published drama titled FOLASADE. “Daddy and mummy, because you have taught your children the act of giving, you have won a copy of FOLASADE,” he declared.
FOLASADE is a play by Fola Adekeye to campaign against exchanging of nude pictures among teenage boys and girls in schools and colleges. The play is about a girl named Folashade whose ignorance nearly cost her her life. Thanks to her parents’ understanding and support which saved her life in the end.
He further said that families who want more copies for friends and extended families can get more at the rate of #2,000 only.
Finally, he advised parents to create moonlight time to read this play with their children. “Read and laugh with them. Let them learn from you,” he concluded
