It is no news that Champions International Schools have sustained moral lectures tagged “Bread of Champions” in her assembly programmes every week. The aim is to keep the students on track while improving their moral conduct
Like other moral talks hosted by the school which were usually anchored by experienced educators, the end of week seven was an exception when on Friday, the Office of Student’s Affairs decided to carry out feedback checks on what the students have learnt so far throughout the week.
Two students from SS 1, Gboya Joseph and Ibikunle Silas were spotted by the Student’s Affairs Officer, Mr. Nwabuakwu Emmanuel who questioned them. He was taken aback upon hearing their recap of the lecture. “I can imagine how this lecture will greatly influence the lives of our children,” he said.
Mrs. Daramola who prepared the speech is the Deputy Head Mistress Special Duties in the Primary School. She was hosted at the senior college to deliver the 7th week’s BREAD OF CHAMPIONS tittled: “MAKE HAY WHILE THE SUN SHINES.”
According to Gboya Joseph who said his major lesson learnt is to work while he has the opportunity and learn while he has the chance. He further explained that the only time one can work and learn is when one is young and agile.
In the same vein, Ibikunle Silas related that one should do what one needs to do while he has the time. He identified time as an inevitable progression that waits for no man. “So, everyone needs to do what they can do while there is still time,” he concluded.
In her teaching, Mrs. Daramola, who described making hay while the sun shines as making use of one’s time well, took her Bible text from the book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 which states the time and season for everything. She charged them to make good use of their time, avoid distractions and study hard for excellence.
Furthermore, she advised that they set their priorities right and never be relegated. Not submitting to peer pressure, determination, and hard work, were her important factors for academic success.
Finally, she commented, “Take your time and work very hard for the days are going by. Once an opportunity is lost, it can never be regained. Do not waste your golden time, for the days are going by.”
