The management of Champions International Schools met with the parents of the JSS 2 and SSS 2 students today at her Excellence Hall for a heart to heart talk about ways to improve the academic quality of their children.
While addressing the parents, the Director of Studies, Mr. Fola Adekeye borrowed a quote from Aristotle, “Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere efforts and intelligent execution…”. He urged them to always put sincere effort and take interest in their children’s education and performance in school. “The future of this nation is in the hands of those who are educated”, he said.
He also implored them to be discoverers of stars through prayers. He said, “It is essential that parents always pray for their wards for full potential discovery”. He added that they should also be like a wise man that has his eyes in his head so as to see afar what the foolish cannot see (Ecclesiastes 2:14) especially in this new world where nothing is encouraging education.
Furthermore, he beseeched parents to always help their children out of their weaknesses by being their fans, referees and coaches; loving them dearly, making rules for them to follow in the game of life and telling them the right thing to do at all times, and mentoring them to becoming great future global leaders.
Mrs. Bose Adekeye, the CEO of CIS, showed appreciation to all parents and insisted that they should always do their part as parents both in mentoring and in funding their children’s education and that the school will always do its part to make sure moral and academic excellence are achieved.
The meeting was rounded off with questions and answers, suggestions from parents on the way forward to making the life of every child worthwhile.
The school finally reassured the parents that her primary aim which is to produce worthy global leaders, will never be compromised.
